The icon of Christ and the Theotokos have been hanging on bare wood for several years.  Dalia and Teodosia took it upon themselves to cover the wood with beautiful red ribbon.  Finally we have a completed iconostasis – just in time for the Nativity Feast.  We call it the Ideal Iconostasis because it is open and allows all the parishioners to see – and thereby participate in – everything that is done in the Altar area.  We believe that every baptized Christian is part of the Royal Priesthood.  It is not just the presbyter who offers up the gifts on the Altar, but every parishioner is offering the gifts to the Lord.
